In addition to this donation, Caring Hearts of Peculiar has “adopted” Shull Early Learning Center through a partnership with the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation. Caring Hearts has provided two meals for Shull staff. Caring Hearts is also donating $500 to help fund creation and development of the playhouses at Shull Early Learning Center.
On Friday, Nov. 18, Caring Hearts will begin its fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $15,000 to give back to the community. The theme of the campaign is “Help Light The Tree.” A Christmas tree located at the Price Chopper store in Peculiar will be decorated with ornaments created by several local Girl Scout troops. A larger tree will be located in downtown Peculiar. A large Santa Sack will be lit to show progress toward the fundraising goal.
You can participate in the fundraiser in several ways: 1) You can purchase one of the bulb ornaments from the tree at Price Chopper. 2) You can donate online via Paypal. 3) You can print a form and mail in your donation. Visit the Carings Hearts of Peculiar website for more information.
Wreaths Across America
Caring Hearts of Peculiar has also contributed to the Wills Cemetery and Peculiar Cemetery to help with the Wreaths Across America project. Both cemeteries have reached their goal to provide a live wreath on the grave of each veteran. The public is invited to attend wreath-laying ceremonies at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at each ceremony. (The ceremonies are taking place at more than 3,400 locations on Dec. 17.)
