School History

The school building was constructed and opened in 2004 on the main Ray-Pec campus for all students in grades 7-8.

In 2010, the district opened Ray-Pec East Middle School on M-58 east of Raymore. Originally intended to serve as a second middle school, East Middle School ultimately opened as the sole middle school to serve the district’s students in grades 7-8. The former middle school on the main campus became a second building for Ray-Pec High School. It was used as a second building for Ray-Pec High School through spring 2017.

In April 2016, voters approved a $27 million bond issue to address space needs throughout the District. The plan included constructing an addition onto Ray-Pec High School so the building could accommodate all students in grades 9-12 beginning in 2017.

The District approved a plan to change the grade configurations for the 2017-2018 school year. Since 2017-2018, there are two middle schools for grades 6-8 (Ray-Pec East Middle School and Ray-Pec South Middle School).
