Foundation Awards Over $15,500 in Grants
The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation Surprise Patrol on March 13, 2025 awarded more than $15,500 in grant awards across the district.
The grants will be used for a variety of items, including books, gardening tools, standing desks, science supplies, Bosu balls, LCD writing tablets, alphabet stepping stones, sensory play materials, video cameras for student journalists, and a stacked washer and dryer.
Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston made the surprise presentations, along with Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle and Foundation Board Members Ashley Crowe, Michelle Houston, Bryan Mallory, Jodi Price, and Cathy Wansing.

Grant Award To Purchase Stand Up Desks
Math Teacher Rachel Wilson at East Middle School received a $450 grant to purchase stand up desks to provide dynamic seating for students in grades 6-8.

Grant to Purchase Vision Impairment Goggles
High School Law Enforcement Teachers Kevin Lemen and Josh Henry received a $887 grant to purchase five pairs of vision impairment goggles.

Grant Award to Purchase Microwaves
High School Science Teacher Jennifer Waterfield received a $340.80 grant to purchase two new microwaves. They will be replacing an old microwave to enable better completion of labs.

Grant To Purchase Science Class Supplies
Raymore Elementary Teacher Angie LaSala received a grant of $395.89 to purchase supplies that display force, energy, and motion transfer.

Grant to Purchase Real World Learning Trips
Ray-Pec Academy Teacher Tammy Novak received a grant award of $660 to purchase Real World Learning trips for nine Middle School Success Academy Students to explore areas of interest.
Grant for Therapy Room Supplies
Sarah Martin and Alexis Myers, Mental Health Professionals for the district, received a grant of $751.56 to furnish two additional spaces for therapists and support services to use.

Grant to Purchase LCD Writing Tablets
Stonegate Elementary Teacher Rebecca Huber received a grant of $150 to purchase LCD writing tablets for interactive learning.

Grant to Purchase STEAM Bins
Stonegate Elementary Teacher Traci Linder-Maloney received a grant of $400 to purchase STEAM Bins. STEAM Bins are reusable items focusing on STEAM topics to encourage creative critical thinking.


Grant to Purchase BRAIN Balls
Evan Dunning, Physical Education Teacher at Stonegate Elementary, received a grant of $830 to purchase 100 mini soccer balls, 100 mini basketballs and 100 lesson plans to help integrate physical education skills and academic concepts.

Grant to Purchase Sensory Barrels
Occupational Therapist Trisha Morris received a grant of $1,022.58 to purchase a sensory barrel for students to use in a calming area of the Special Education classroom.
Grant to Purchase Reusable Sensory Play Materials
Shull Early Learning Center Teachers Kelly Moser, Tobi O'Donnell, Cassie Passeau, Amanda Haydu, Kristyl Boehmer and Stacy Barbarick received a grant of $991.27 to purchase reusable sensory play materials and activities.

Grant to Purchase Book Club Books
Timber Creek Elementary Teacher Caitlin Lumbard received a $610 grant to purchase book club books for small group reading in ELA class. They are purchasing 12 different books, with seven books for each title.
