Modeled after Broadway's Tony Awards, Starlight's annual Blue Star Awards recognize achievement and excellence in musical theatre among Kansas City area high school students. This is the 21st year for the awards program. Ceremony winners will be announced in 24 categories, with students participating from 54 area high schools. The ceremony is free, open to the public, and all tickets are general admission seating. Although admission is free, tickets are required. Red carpet arrivals and photo opportunities begin at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17.
