The Kansas City Cappies is a non-profit organization that celebrates high school theatre in the Kansas City area. A team of student critics from each high school is trained to write theatrical critiques. The critics attend shows at other schools and write reviews. Critics who see at least five shows in a season are eligible for vote for awards to be presented at the spring Gala. The 21st annual Kansas City Cappies Gala is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at the historic Folly Theatre, 300 W. 11th St., Kansas City. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $18 at the door.
