Toni Davis will be the assistant principal for Ray-Pec South Middle School, effective in July.
The School Board approved hiring Davis at its March 21 meeting.
Davis is currently the principal at Raytown South Middle School, a position she has held since 2021. She was assistant principal at the school from 2015 to 2021, and was an administrative intern at Raytown Middle School from 2014 to 2015.
Earlier, she was an assistant principal for one year for two elementary schools, was a middle school English teacher for 10 years, and a reading teacher for two years.
Stacy Johnson, Principal at South Middle School, commented on the selection of Davis to the new post.
"We are so excited to have Mrs. Davis joining our team,” Johnson said. “She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to South. She has a great energy that I believe students will gravitate to."
Davis is excited about her new role in the district.
"I am looking forward to getting to know all the students, staff, and families we serve at Ray-Pec South Middle School,” she said. “I can't wait to become part of the Wolf Pack!”
Davis received her bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Arkansas. She earned a master’s degree in teaching and learning from Avila University in 2009 and a master’s degree in school leadership from Baker University in 2014. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership at Baker University.
Davis and her husband, Bernard, live in Lee’s Summit with their two daughters, Moriah, 14, and Madison, 12.
She will replace Paul Turner, who has resigned from the District, effective at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
