The Man Who Came to Dinner introduces us to Sheridan Whiteside, a famous East Coast critic who breaks his hip while on tour and is forced to stay with a family in Ohio. Known for his acerbic wit, ego, and radio personality, Whiteside accepts an invitation to dinner at the home of Daisy Stanley, the wife of a conservative businessman. After injuring himself by slipping on ice as he leaves, the family must put him up for the holidays. His big city attitude quickly clashes with their midwestern ways, and complicates a budding romance between his assistant and a local reporter. Full of humorous situations and characters, The Man Who Came to Dinner is a delightful comedy.
