Brett Barbarick

Brett Barbarick will become the new Assistant Activities and Athletics Director for the School District, effective in July. The Board approved the internal transfer on March 20. He is currently a business teacher at Ray-Pec High School, a position he has held since 2004.

Barbarick has been Chair of the high school’s Business Department since 2008 and has helped write three Vocational Enhancement Grants for the program. He has also been the head wrestling coach since 2008.

During the current school year, Barbarick is serving as an Activities Director Intern. In that role, he is working on program budgets, program alignment, transportation communication, and other tasks.

The Assistant Director position is new. The School Board recommended adding the position for the 2025-2026 school year as a way to support the growing activities programs in the district. The Assistant Director role moves from a part-time internship to a full-time assistant director role to support the district's growing activities programs.

Barbarick is enthusiastic about his new position.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside our great coaches and directors as we continue to provide sports and activities for our student body,” he said. “I’m looking forward to the future of Ray-Pec athletics. It’s a great day to be a Panther!”

Chief of Staff Dr. Al Voelker said he is excited to have Barbarick fill the new position of Assistant Director of Activities and Athletics.

“His deep knowledge of our programs and fresh ideas for growth will be invaluable as we continue to enhance opportunities for our students,” Voelker said.

Barbarick is a Ray-Pec High School graduate. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Central Missouri in education with a business influence. He earned his Master's Degree in curriculum and instruction from Baker University. He received his Educational Specialist degree in educational leadership and his building level administration certification from William Woods University.

Barbarick and his wife, Stacey, live in Peculiar. Stacey is a teacher at Shull Early Learning Center. They have two children, Brock, 9th grade; and Sydney, 5th grade.
