Dr. Katie Kensinger

Dr. Katie Kensinger will be the new Assistant Principal for Raymore-Peculiar High School, effective in July. The Board approved the hiring at its March 20 meeting.

Dr. Kensinger comes to the district from Springfield Public Schools, where she has been the Director of College and Career Readiness the past two years. She was Coordinator of College and Career Readiness from 2019 to 2023, and won the 2022-2023 award for Missouri CTE New Administrator of the Year. She was Coordinator of Site Interventions during the 2018-2019 school year.

Earlier, Dr. Kensinger taught Family and Consumer Sciences classes for grades 7-12 from 2012 to 2018 at several school districts, including Branson Public Schools.

Dr. Kensinger said she is excited to join the team at Ray-Pec High School.

“I look forward to continuing the work of academic excellence and providing opportunities for student choice, ensuring success for all,” she said.

Director of Secondary Education Dr. Glenna Bult said the district is thrilled to welcome Dr. Kensinger as the new high school assistant principal.

“Her extensive background and experience in CTE (career and technical education), work-based learning, college programs, and other various specialized choice programs align perfectly with our district's vision of fostering excellence and innovation,” Dr. Bult said. “We are confident that her leadership will help guide our students and staff toward continued success.

Dr. Kensinger will replace Dr. Jeanne Kuhlman, who is retiring at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

Dr. Kensinger received her bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science Education and her master’s degree in Early Childhood and Family Development, both from Missouri State University. She received her educational specialist degree in Education Administration in 2016 and her doctorate in Education Administration in 2021 from Lindenwood University.

Dr. Kensinger and her husband, Christopher, plan to move to the area this summer.
