Samantha Williams has been named the new Head Girls Volleyball Coach at Ray-Pec High School beginning with the 2025 season. Williams was a two-time All-American as a player at Pittsburg State, and was most recently an Assistant Volleyball Coach for the UMKC Roos. Previously, Williams was the Interim Head Coach at William Jewell for the 2023 season.
Williams comes to Ray-Pec from the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she was an assistant coach. Prior to UMKC, Williams coached at William Jewell where she was an assistant coach for two seasons and was named the interim head coach heading into the 2023 year. She led the Cardinals to 12 wins throughout the year, including a pair of nationally-ranked wins over #25 Harding and #23 Rockhurst.
In 2022, William Jewell posted a 13-15 record, the program's most in a decade and a five-win improvement from 2021. The Cardinals posted eight wins in Williams' first season on the sidelines and earned Academic All-GLVC distinction.
Prior to her time with William Jewell, Williams was the head coach at Park Hill South, leading the Panthers to five conference championships across six seasons and coaching eight players to All-State honors.
Williams also brings professional experience to the Panther's sidelines, playing three seasons with Lindsberg Volleyball in the Swedish Volleyball Professional League.
As a collegiate player, Williams was inducted into the Pittsburg State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022, in honor of her prolific playing career. During her time with the Gorillas, She was a two-time All-American, a four-time All-MIAA performer and was the 2005 MIAA Freshman of the Year. She finished her career as the program's all-time kills leader with 1,825 and was just the fourth player in program history to record over 1,000 kills and digs.
A native of Kansas City, Williams graduated from Fort Osage High School in 2005. She currently lives in Kansas City with her son, Aedyn, and daughter, Charleigh.
