This summer, 8th grader Aurora Lautzenhiser will join outstanding middle school students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) in Washington, D.C.
JrNYLC is a program that enables students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
Lautzenhiser was nominated by Carma Richey, an English Language Arts Teacher at Ray-Pec East Middle School, for her leadership abilities and academic achievements. Lautzenhiser has been involved in the EMS theater and forensics programs during her middle school career, under Teacher Adam Segura’s leadership. She obtained a 1st place finish in Prose, and 2nd place in Duo Interpretation during the 2022 EMS Invitational. She
also studied Spanish with Teacher Jason Rose. Lautzenhiser was a middle school member of the 2021 Starlight Stars of
Tomorrow program and enjoys taking private vocal and dance lessons.
