The Ray-Pec girls cross country team placed 2nd at the state meet Friday in Columbia, and four runners placed in the top 25 to earn All-State honors.
The Panthers were led by Junior Ashlyn Smith, who placed 8th overall in the field of 168 runners, with a time of 18:59.6.
In addition to Ashlyn, these runners were honored as All-State:
18th place: Senior Avery Raymond, 19:21.1
19th place: Senior Alexis Borum, 19:24.2
24th place: Freshman Brooke Stephenson, 19:30.5

The boys team ran well, but fell just short of the podum.
The boys tied for 4th place as a team, but placed 5th due to tie-breaker rules. In addition, the top Ray-Pec runner was one place out of All-State recognition.
The Panthers were led by Sophomore Carter Younger, was placed 26th with a time of 16:06.5, and Senior Derek Nissen at 29th place with a time of 16:20, and Freshman Gabe Voelker in 34th place with a time of 16:26.1.
