On Thursday night the School Board recognized Student Elizabeth Burton. Elizabeth, an incoming junior at Ray-Pec High School, is the first student in the school’s history to be selected for the All-State Jazz Choir. She is pictured with Board Member Billy King.
The All-State Jazz Choir performed at the Missouri Choral Directors Association conference in July in Springfield, Mo. Students had to audition to be selected to participate in each of the honor choirs. Ray-Pec had many students participate in the summer honor choirs, but Elizabeth is the first from our district to be selected for the All-State Jazz Choir. 🎶

Just a few construction updates to start the morning. The PAC walls continue to go up and the Raymore Elementary School playground is nearing completion! 👷

Today the Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation delivered snacks to every school in the district to help welcome staff back to work. Thank you for all that you do! 😋🥰

We kicked off the 2023-24 school year with a bang this morning! 💥 All Ray-Pec staff filled the high school gym for convocation and to celebrate the beginning of another wonderful school year.
"This morning, our celebration is all about the dreams of our students. Students are coming to us wanting to have a successful and meaningful life. That’s our mission. And that’s their dream. It is our job to make that dream possible. All of us, and I mean anyone in this room employed or in an elected leadership role of the Ray-Pec School District, has the duty to deliver on or support the mission of our school district. Everyone. Our theme for this year is that we are all 'Dreammakers.'"
At the end of the ceremony Superintendent, Dr. Mike Slagle, asked all staff who were committed to being "Dreammakers" for students to stand. What a scene. 🖤💛

The first walls of the new Performing Arts Center are in place. Only 110 more to go! 👷♂️

📣 Please join us in welcoming all of the new teachers to the Ray-Pec School District! 📣
This week all teachers that are either new to the district or new to the profession gathered at the LEAD Center to network and get the 411 on all things Ray-Pec.

New elementary teachers spent their day experiencing hands-on learning like their students during Project Lead the Way Launch training. PLTW Launch is a program the district uses for science instruction in elementary classrooms.

A new school year calls for some new ways to follow everything going on around the Ray-Pec School District. There are ✨𝐵𝑅𝒜𝒩𝒟 𝒩𝐸𝒲✨ Facebook and Instagram accounts for both Ray-Pec High School and the Ray-Pec Ninth Grade Center.

Make sure your student's immunizations are up to date for the new school year. This particularly impacts students entering kindergarten, 8th grade, and high school.
The Cass County Health Department is offering walk-in clinics July 31 through Aug. 18 for back to school immunizations. You may also obtain the vaccinations at your health care provider.
