Early childhood speech-language pathologist Susanne Mahoney has been selected to present at the 2024 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) National Conference! The conference will take place in Seattle, Washington, this December. Susanne has dedicated over 30 years to working with preschool-aged children, focusing on creating and facilitating communication opportunities for students who are nonverbal or minimally verbal. Her passion for helping these students understand and use functional language has driven her to implement innovative, research-based strategies, including the use of Core Words and picture-based communication tools. Core Words are a set of commonly used words that form the foundation for meaningful expression, especially for individuals with limited verbal abilities. Help us celebrate Susanne’s continued contributions to the field of speech-language pathology and her commitment to advancing early childhood education. Her upcoming presentation at ASHA will no doubt inspire fellow professionals and contribute valuable insights to the broader speech-language therapy community.
