Don't forget to show your Royals spirit tomorrow! We will be on Spring Break during their Home Opener.

Mark your calendars to join us next week! We will have the following food trucks there that evening: La Chancla, KC Smoked, Kiylee Kakes, and Omars Popcorn.

Kindergarten enrollment opens next week!

We are excited to see all of our students tomorrow for an amazing day of learning! Don't forget to bring your fully charged device and your READBowl log. See you soon! 😊

Ray-Pec plans to have in-person school tomorrow.
We don’t usually send a message when schools are going to be OPEN, but after last week, it seems like a good idea! If there is a change to our plans for tomorrow, we will communicate by 5:30 a.m.
Please remember to use caution while driving, especially in the southern parts of the district; be patient about possible bus delays, and make sure that students dress warmly. Monday morning temperatures are predicted to be cold!

Due to the severe winter weather conditions, there will be no school on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.
This will be a traditional inclement weather day and no virtual learning classes will be held.
This is a significant storm that will take time to clear and make roadways and walkways passable. Our goal is to have students back in our buildings as soon as we can, but we realize that the timing and severity of this storm presents us with challenges. Our Ray-Pec building and grounds crews will continue to work with our cities’ and county public works departments and our bus transportation provider to bring us back to workable conditions as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
A decision as to how to make up today’s inclement weather day will be made later in the school year.
Activities
All elementary school, middle school, and high school after-school activities and evening events will be canceled and/or rescheduled.
Child Care
BOOST (Best Out of School Time) is the program that provides before- and after-school care. BOOST will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6.

More than 100 juniors and seniors from Ray-Pec High School serve as A+ tutors throughout our district. Here are pictures of some of them working with other students in our district! #Herewego

Our In-Person Book Fair has come to a close. What a fantastic time we've had! From creating wish lists with our buddy rooms to seeing the excitement on everyone's faces, this year's book fair was a wonderful success. A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for their hard work during Family Fun Night on Tuesday and to the generous parent volunteers who gave their time to help at the book fair. 🙌
But don't worry – the book fair isn't over yet! Our Online Book Fair is still going strong until November 22. 🛒✨ Check out the great selection and continue supporting our school library here: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/eagleglenelementaryschool.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event so special! Happy reading! 📖💫

We can't wait to see our families at Family Fun Night!

👻 Spooky Fun in the Library! 👻
This month, our library added a fun twist to our picture books! Some of our books came with a glow-in-the-dark ghost that students could adopt and take home. Each student got to name their new ghost friend and read to it for 20 minutes every night. 📚✨ Check out our dedicated readers enjoying their ghostly companions!
📖 Grade 4 Reading Challenge 📖
We’ve kicked off an exciting Reading Challenge in Grade 4, encouraging students to explore award-winning books! The challenge involves reading two fiction books from the 24-25 Mark Twain Award list and two nonfiction books from the 24-25 Dogwood Award list. With every completed book, students earn a special brag tag! 🏅 Shoutout to our first four students who have already completed their first book for the challenge—way to go! 🎉 Keep up the amazing work, readers!

The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation Surprise Patrol recently awarded our building 2 grants! Jennifer Welder, Speech Language Pathologist, received a grant to purchase a giant PVC indoor/outdoor symbol communication board for the playground. Heather Poland, Library Media Specialist, received a grant to purchase ozobots for coding and interactive learning at Eagle Glen. Thank you Ray-Pec Foundation!

Today, the Belton Cinema was buzzing with excitement as EG families gathered for a special screening of The Wild Robot. This event was the grand finale of the Knights Book Club, which kicked off in September when families signed up to read Peter Brown's heartwarming tale of adventure and discovery.
This week at after-school celebrations students not only discussed their favorite moments from the book but also dove into hands-on activities that brought the story to life. From coding their own robot, drawing the beloved character Roz, to creating a collaborative poster that captured the book’s powerful themes—every moment was a burst of creativity and learning.
The energy was contagious, and the experience was unforgettable. Watching the story they read come alive on the big screen was the perfect ending to a journey that inspired curiosity, teamwork, and imagination. What a memorable way to celebrate reading and community!

Help us celebrate our veterans! Eagle Glen will be creating a “Wall of Honor” presentation to pay tribute to our heroes. If you have a family member who has served or is currently serving in the military and you would like to include them in the “Wall of Honor,” please send the information below to Mrs. Beck by October 29th. The “Wall of Honor” presentation will be shown during our 3rd-grade music program on November 11th.

Mark your calendars! 🎉 Join us for Culver’s Night on Tuesday, October 15, from 5-8 PM! Come out to support Eagle Glen and see all your favorite teachers in action! 🍔🍦
10% of sales and 100% of tips during the event will go directly to our school. Let’s come together, enjoy some delicious food, and help make a difference for our students. See you there! 🦅 #EagleGlenPride #CulversNight
