The Ray-Pec Speech and Debate Team had an outstanding showing at both of the Northland tournaments they attended on Nov. 17 and 18.
The varsity team (pictured) competed at Park Hill South High School.
In Dramatic Interpretation Sav Jordan placed 1st.
In Storytelling, Kaedyn Blede placed 1st.
In Humorous Interpretation, Eli Showen placed 6th, and Kaedyn Blede placed 4th.
In Poetry Interpretation, Ian Hanaburg placed 3rd and Amari Russell placed 2nd.
In Program Oral Interpretation, Kaylee Arenivas placed 6th and Abbie Stauffer placed 5th.
In Duo Interpretation, Ray-Pec shut out finals with Elijah O'Brien and Irelyn Sloan in 6th place, Wyatt Rust and Audery Shepard in 5th place, Eli Showen and Vanessa Diaz in 4th place, Noah Tuttle and Tre Hill in 3rd place, Sav Jordan and Devin Fisher in 2nd place and Ellie McRill and Jaxson Fine in 1st place.
The novice team competed at North Kansas City High School. Here are the results:
In Duo Interpretation, Emmaleigh Colborn and EmyJa Sanders placed 5th, Kaitlyn Andersen and Delaney Burke placed 4th, and CJ Neal and Evan Thomson placed 2nd.
In Poetry Interpretation, Lexi Panuco Received 4th place and Axyl Lynch placed.
In Prose, Reed Collison placed 4th.
In Storytelling, Lilley Gaston received 4th place and Ava Gawron placed 1st.
In Dramatic Interpretation, Derrick Perry placed 3rd.
In Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking, Parker Dane placed 4th.
In Public Form Debate, Reed Collison and Quinn Sellaim placed 6th.
