Raymore-Peculiar High School announces its upcoming production of the classic farce “Noises Off!” Performances will be in the new Ray-Pec Performing Arts Center, with the “veteran” cast performances set for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 5, 7, and 8; and “newcomer” performances scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6; 2:30 p.m. Feb. 8; and 1:30 p.m. Feb. 9.
Written by Michael Frayn in 1982, “Noises Off!” is an award-winning farce following a British traveling theatre group that is struggling with their own drama and relationships behind the scenes during their tour in the United States. The play’s first act shows the final rehearsal, the second act takes place backstage during a performance, and the third act presents a disastrous final performance. This slapstick comedy reveals an insider view behind the curtain, with dropped lines, misplaced props, and nearly wrecking their own production.
The “veteran” cast includes Aurora Lautzenhiser as Dotty Otley, Jaxson Fines as Lloyd Dallas, Eli Showen as Garry Lejeune, Amy Robinson as Brooke Ashton, Vanessa Diaz as Poppy Norton-Taylor, Ian Haneberg as Frederick (Freddy) Fellowes, Dinah Hodgson as Belinda Blair, Kaedyn Blede as Selsdon Mowbray, with Carter Younger and Bryson Burkhart both portraying Tim Allgood.
The “newcomer” cast includes Lissa Riley and Ava Gawron both as Dotty Otley, Rayyan Ahmed and Keliko Montes as Lloyd Dallas, Kyan Roth as Garry Lejeune, Lexie Schram and Audrey Kelch as Brooke Ashton, Chloe Rew as Poppy Norton-Taylor, Evan Thompson as Frederick (Freddy) Fellowes, Amari Russell as Belinda Blair, Joshua Oakes as Selsdon Mowbray, as well as Reed Collison and Sawyer Griffin as Tim Allgood.
Working behind the scenes are Teacher Dane Schnake as the director of the “Veteran” cast and Todd Schnake as an associate director working with the “Newcomer” cast, Teacher Adam Segura as Technical Director, and Kay Connelly, Teacher Jayme Overstreet, and Pam Schnake as production assistants. The assistant directors for Noises Off! are Students Benjamin Herrel, Mason Rew, Jordan Kim, Audrey Kelch, and Sawyer Griffin.
The scenic coordinators are Hailey Feagins and Addison Kyle, with stage manager Mason Rew. The assistant stage manager is Landon Younger. The lighting designer is Ace Evans. The sound designer is Ellie McRill. The costume designer for the “veteran” cast is Kaylee Arenivas. The costume designer for the “newcomer” cast is Shyanne Hammer. The props designer is Isabella Gallagher. The house manager and the box office manager is Tristan Johnson.
