Last night's Ninth Grade Center dedication ceremony was highlighted by building principal Dr. Alan Downing, Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle, Board of Education President Ruth Johnson, and ninth grader Clara Otta speaking to community members about the importance of this new facility for both students and the community of the Raymore-Peculiar School District. It's so exciting to see our first class of ninth graders thriving in their new home! 🖤💛 #PantherPrideStartsHere

Just a few construction updates to start the morning. The PAC walls continue to go up and the Raymore Elementary School playground is nearing completion! 👷

We kicked off the 2023-24 school year with a bang this morning! 💥 All Ray-Pec staff filled the high school gym for convocation and to celebrate the beginning of another wonderful school year.
"This morning, our celebration is all about the dreams of our students. Students are coming to us wanting to have a successful and meaningful life. That’s our mission. And that’s their dream. It is our job to make that dream possible. All of us, and I mean anyone in this room employed or in an elected leadership role of the Ray-Pec School District, has the duty to deliver on or support the mission of our school district. Everyone. Our theme for this year is that we are all 'Dreammakers.'"
At the end of the ceremony Superintendent, Dr. Mike Slagle, asked all staff who were committed to being "Dreammakers" for students to stand. What a scene. 🖤💛

Please save the date of Thursday, Aug. 31, for Curriculum Night / Open House at the Ninth Grade Center. This will be a time for parents to meet with teachers and learn about your son/daughter's courses. During the evening, parents will walk through their child's 1st thru 7th period schedule. More information will be provided as Aug. 31 gets closer.

Preview Day is specifically designed to provide ninth graders students an opportunity to spend a half-day in the morning on campus to experience what a typical day of high school will look like. It is an excellent opportunity for incoming students to familiarize themselves with the Ninth Grade Center and the High School experience.
During Preview Day, students will be given the chance to tour the building, visit with their advisory groups, and meet the faculty members. This event is for students only, and bus transportation will be provided by the district. Buses will run their normal morning routes at their normal morning times. 🚌 We highly recommend this event for all of our incoming ninth graders.
