Congratulations to Kennady Smith on being accepted into the Conservatory Bridges Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City!

Kennady Smith

Kennady is an 8th grader at Ray-Pec South Middle School.

The program provides exceptional young performing arts students with intensive, one-on-one instruction and performance experience to help prepare them for auditions into selective university programs.

The

scholarship provides Kennady with weekly voice lessons from a Conservatory Bridges faculty member who will coordinate with South Middle School Vocal Music Teacher Lezlie Waltz for further preparation of her vocal ability.

The scholarship also provides a $100 budget for music and materials, and provides a pianist for her required solo performances and rehearsals.

Kennady may remain in the program until graduation from high school, as long as program requirements are met.

She is the third student from South Middle School to be accepted into the program. Previously, Amari Russell (current 9th grader) and Chennedy Johnson (current sophomore) were accepted into the program.

Since its founding in 2007, Musical Bridges has taught more than 200 students in Kansas City-area school districts.

Congratulations, Kennady!
