The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation Surprise Patrol on March 13, 2025 awarded more than $15,500 in grant awards across the district. Stonegate teachers received three grants.
Physical Education Teachers Jeff Rives, Jennifer Gunnels, Nick Janes, and Lora Kurzweil (not pictured) received a $1,800 grant to purchase a stacked washer and dryer. This will allow them to wash physical education uniforms and sports team uniforms on site.
Missy Mattingly, Media Teacher at South Middle School, received a $679.95 grant to purchase four new video cameras to use for each class. This will expand elective opportunities in journalism at South MIddle School next year.
Librarian Jennifer Bailey received a grant of $140 to purchase a Makerspace creation in the South Middle School Library.

Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston made the surprise presentations, along with Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle and Foundation Board Members Ashley Crowe, Michelle Houston, Bryan Mallory, Jodi Price, and Cathy Wansing.
The grants will be used for a variety of items, including books, gardening tools, standing desks, science supplies, Bosu balls, LCD writing tablets, alphabet stepping stones, sensory play materials, video cameras for student journalists, and a stacked washer and dryer.
