The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation Surprise Patrol on March 13, 2025 awarded more than $15,500 in grant awards across the district. Stonegate teachers received three grants.
Teacher Rebecca Huber (pictured above) received a grant of $150 to purchase LCD writing tablets for interactive learning.
Teacher Traci Linder-Maloney received a grant of $400 to purchase STEAM Bins. STEAM Bins are reusable items focusing on STEAM topics to encourage creative critical thinking.
Physical Education Teacher Evan Dunning received a grant of $830 to purchase 100 mini soccer balls, 100 mini basketballs and 100 lesson plans to help integrate physical education skills and academic concepts.
Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston made the surprise presentations, along with Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle and Foundation Board Members Ashley Crowe, Michelle Houston, Bryan Mallory, Jodi Price, and Cathy Wansing.
The grants will be used for a variety of items, including books, gardening tools, standing desks, science supplies, Bosu balls, LCD writing tablets, alphabet stepping stones, sensory play materials, video cameras for student journalists, and a stacked washer and dryer.
