The Ray-Pec School District is seeking nominations for the 2024 Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Employee of the Year. The award finalists will be honored in the spring.
Anyone may nominate a teacher by submitting a letter of nomination by Jan. 19. A candidate must:
Be a full-time teacher, librarian, or counselor.
Be returning to teach in 2024-25 in the District.
Have completed 3 or more years teaching at Ray-Pec.
Be effective and innovative in the classroom.
For the Support Staff award, you may nominate a full-time or part-time employee who has worked at least one year for the District. The deadline is also Jan. 19.
Examples of eligible employees include: accompanist, accounts payable, BOOST before and after school care, buildings and grounds, child nutrition, crossing guards, finance employees, lunch monitors, media assistants, nurses, paraprofessionals, payroll, safety and security, secretaries, teacher aides, and technology employees.

RP Sings, the Choirs of Ray-Pec, would like to invite all students, grades 5-12 to participate in our RP Select Day 2024. This is an amazing day where all can come together to sing. This event is hosted at Ray-Pec High School and is free of charge.

In our elementary schools, November is a time when parents, grandparents, and other family members come to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with their elementary school students. 🦃

Congratulations to Ray-Pec Special Olympics athletes who competed at the bowling tournament on Nov. 11, 2023, in Raytown. Each of the pictured teams placed first in their categories. https://www.raypec.org/page/special-olympics
Students from East Middle School and South Middle School participated in the West Central Missouri Music Educators Association 7th and 8th Grade Honor Choir Event on Nov. 4. Selected students practiced their music before the event, then met on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the University of Central Missouri to prepare the music with other students from neighboring schools under the direction of clinicians. A concert was performed that evening.

Second row - Kennady Smith, Teacher Lezlie Waltz, Lorelei Fairbanks, and Allie Compton. Bottom row - Madyson Gaucin, Aydenn Mitchell, Mathias Quintero, Noah Varnal, and Ky Price.

As of yesterday, parents of Missouri children birth to age five will be able to register their eligible children on the Imagination Library national website at dollyslibrary.com. All Missouri parents will have the option to select the statewide program after entering their zip code.
There have been some issues navigating to the website due to high traffic. If you have issues accessing the site, you may need to try again at a later date.
Ray-Pec Holiday Mart 🎅
You are invited to the Ray-Pec Holiday Mart from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at Ray-Pec High School. More than 50 vendors will be selling a variety of merchandise. Chris Cakes will be serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take photos with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free. The event is sponsored by Ray-Pec Cheer.
