🐝📚🍯 What a sweet adventure for our amazing 1st-grade classes! 🍯📚🐝
Our amazing little researchers have been diving deep into the world of community helpers, and today, they got the sweetest experience ever! 🍯🐝
Our class had the incredible opportunity to meet a local beekeeper, who shared their how bees and beekeepers play a vital role in our community. The kids were all ears as they learned about the importance of these tiny pollinators in our ecosystem.
And guess what? They even got to taste the fruits of their newfound knowledge - pure, golden honey straight from the hive! 🍯🐝🌼 The excitement was off the charts, as they savored the delicious honey, a true gift from our hardworking bees.
Big thanks to our beekeeper for this unforgettable experience!

This week 5th grade classes had the opportunity to conduct exciting experiments that caused big chemical reactions. Students were able to witness firsthand how matter can undergo change. Science is all about curiosity, exploration, and discovery, and the kids are loving every minute of it.

👩🏫📚 October is National Principals Month! 🏫👨🏫
Let's take a moment to celebrate and appreciate our incredible principals who dedicate their lives to shaping the future of our students. 🙌👏

🌟 Happy National Custodian's Day! 🧹🪣
Today, we want to take a moment to celebrate the unsung heroes who keep our schools clean and safe. 💪🧽
Behind the scenes, custodians work tirelessly to ensure we have a clean and pleasant environment to learn, work, and thrive in. They are the ones who make sure our spaces sparkle and shine, even when we're not looking. ✨
To all of our custodians, we are incredibly grateful for all that you do. 🙌❤️ #NationalCustodiansDay #ThankACustodian

5th graders started hosting our morning "Live" announcements today! They did great.

4th graders in Mrs. Loutzenhiser's room have been building their thinking stamina while collaborating with peers in math class and they love it! Their problem today was "If you write out the numbers 1-1,000 how many times would you write out the number 7?" What would your answer be?

We kicked off the 2023-24 school year with a bang this morning! 💥 All Ray-Pec staff filled the high school gym for convocation and to celebrate the beginning of another wonderful school year.
"This morning, our celebration is all about the dreams of our students. Students are coming to us wanting to have a successful and meaningful life. That’s our mission. And that’s their dream. It is our job to make that dream possible. All of us, and I mean anyone in this room employed or in an elected leadership role of the Ray-Pec School District, has the duty to deliver on or support the mission of our school district. Everyone. Our theme for this year is that we are all 'Dreammakers.'"
At the end of the ceremony Superintendent, Dr. Mike Slagle, asked all staff who were committed to being "Dreammakers" for students to stand. What a scene. 🖤💛

Kids had a blast watching some staff members get "PIED" in the face. PIE a staff member was a fundraiser set up by our wonderful Stonegate PTA.

Congratulations to our 5th-grade class. Today we celebrated your accomplishments and we can't wait to see what the future has in store for you! Once a stingray always a stingray!

STEAM night was amazing. Thank you to all who helped make it possible.

Join us Thursday night for our annual S.T.E.A.M. night from 5:30-7:00. The halls will be lined with artwork and students will be able to participate in science, technology, and math activities all around the building.

Don't forget Monday the book fair opens and we will celebrate by wearing PJ's, "Rise and Shine it's caring time" Bring all canned food donations to the front office.

Next week during the book fair we will be celebrating how we all come together as a community, no matter what our differences are, to take care of each other, our families, our school, and our city.
Donations: We will be collecting items for the RayPec School Foundation. Each item collected, not only will go to helping students and families in our school district but will also get SG students into a raffle to possibly win a prize themselves.
Another way to be entered into the raffle is to participate in the dress-up days. It is a way to have fun and participate in something the whole school gets involved in.
Also, parents, grandparents & other relatives, and friends of our school, will be welcomed to come in to volunteer and help with our book fair (sign-ups will come out soon).
